Province of
Darién
This is Panama's most remote and least developed province, a vast area of dense tropical rainforest with incredible biodiversity.
- Indigenous Communities: The province is home to Indigenous communities, primarily the Emberá-Wounaan people, who maintain ancient traditions and a semi-nomadic lifestyle. They are known for their exquisite handmade crafts, such as intricately woven baskets and carved statues.
- Darién National Park: A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this park is a critical wildlife corridor and one of the most important conservation areas in Central America. It is a challenging yet rewarding destination for eco-adventurers.
